work experience
Joe spent 2 years as a referencing surveyor using GIS software for mapping and scheduling after graduation, but knew his future lie in Landscape.  After undertaking a conversion and graduate diploma course at Leeds Met University he spent some time working for Groundwork before joining Farrer Huxley Associates. 

key skills
Joe has got very strong graphic and creative skills.  His depth of knowledge on computer drawing packages has made him highly sought after in the office !  His hand drawing skills have produced some outstanding sketch work for clients.

interests
Sustainable design – both ecological and social, motivates Joe.  What he likes are bold designs and when he designs he is interested in how people will use the space.  He doesn’t just want to create something that only looks beautiful on the page.  It is this community buy in to a scheme that is his ultimate bench mark for it’s success.  He is a great people watcher and likes to study how people use different open spaces.
